I enjoyed presenting to 25 Head Teachers, teachers and Governors about the new government requirement for Carbon Action Plans. Covering green careers, decarbonisation, resilience and my favourite, biodiversity. My hope is that this could be an incentive for schools to integrate and tackle the need for biodiversity and climate change education as a key pin in the curriculum and experiences for their students. As well as the co benefits of nature connection, improved mental health and wellbeing, more nature based education in schools has the potential to be a very positive step forward. I'm now holding my breath to hear news about when the the Natural History GCSE might be launched.
