Nature Activity!

In these sections I'll suggest some ideas that might give you and your family some inspiration for exploring nature. You don't have to be at forest school to play in and explore the natural world, once you start the process of including the natural world in your day to day activities endless fun opportunities can present themselves!

In the picture above my nephew and his uncle decided to draw a nature map of his local park. They added the woodland, the lake, the stream, wildflowers and when they go back they're going to add which animals and flowers they see and where. And because everything at the moment has to be about pirates they've added a pirate and doubtless some hidden treasure too!

Playful ways to explore nature that allow your children to take the lead can be really fun as well as educational for everyone and help build an early connection to the outdoors. You can do a nature map of a garden, a park or even your walk to and from school.
